Asian Quitline: a community of practice and a social capital network Capacity Building and Outreach We provide training courses upto the NHS Training Standard to empower health professionals, community organisations, NHS Stop Smoking Services and Public Health units in PCTs to enhance and strengthen their own local initiatives in the various South Asian communities in the UK. We meet the needs of our service users by having the right team who can deliver the services in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner. We have the right links to the ethnic media, community organizations and other agencies working in public health and smoking cessation activity. Both the Asian Quitline staff and our service users can draw upon a wealth of other resources, support and expertise from the parent QUIT® organization.
